Operation Food Sharing – Our pantries distributed over 32,000 bags of food to families in need throughout Anne Arundel County in 2007. Soup Kitchen Program – The Anne Arundel County Food & Resource Bank works with the Department of Human … [more]Resources to make sure that congregate feeding sites always have a hot meal to offer. In 2007, our soup kitchens served more than 65,000 nutritious meals to homeless and hungry citizens in our county. Nutritional Diet Program – This helps families whose needs go beyond standard food pantry items. The goal of the Nutritional Diet Program is to ensure that seniors and infants with diet constraints are not left at risk of hunger or malnutrition, which could increase poor health. This past year 346 families were assisted through this program. Furniture Program – The Anne Arundel County Food Bank distributes furniture, appliances, and other household items at no charge to our clients through referrals from the Department of Social Services, and other service oriented agencies. In this past year the AACFB assisted 952 families. The need for this service is constantly growing. Professional Medical Equipment – The distribution of medical equipment includes but is not limited to wheel chairs, transfer chairs, electric scooters, hospital beds, and walkers to clients free of charge through referrals by Department of Aging, Department of Social Services and other service oriented agencies. The AACFB loaned medical equipment to 104 individuals this past year.
