CAGE YOUR RAGE

Cage Your Rage is an 8 week anger program for adolescents

The group is open to both males and females ranging in ages 11-17.

The groups meet once a week in the evenings.

The Cage Your Rage anger management program is an ongoing service provided by Robert A. Pascal Youth & Family Services. The goals of the program are 1) To teach new skills that will enable the participants to control their anger in provocative situations; and 2) To increase participant's personal power by learning the necessary skills to communicate their needs and desires effectively.

The program is facilitated through a small group limited to 10 participants (a minimum of 5 is required for the group to begin). Each session is 90 minutes in length. Registration and individual screenings for the group begins approximately two weeks prior to the group's scheduled start date. The group program is conducted at our Severna Park facility.

Enhancing Social Skills and Self-Esteem

The goal of this group is to promote the awareness of acceptable social behaviors and to enhance the development of social skills that will enhance feelings of well-being, self-empowerment, and ultimately, positive self-esteem.

Group activities are designed to help a wide range of individuals, including those who display hyperactivity or attention deficit disorder, depression, anxiety, shyness, general social skills deficits and interpersonal difficulties.

The skills that group members can acquire should serve them well in their real day-to-day social environment. Group exercises will also focus on the development of problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Self-esteem will be enhanced as participants learn to give up negative self-messages and develop positive ones.

Please note: This group is not appropriate for adolescents with severe behavioral problems.
